The longer standard leader

12’ Standard leaders are the perfect choice for progressive fly fishers and where extra long leaders aren’t required. The Pro leaders are designed for many fishing situations we encounter by the water. Although ready to use the leader can be customized by removing approx 30-40cm from the tippet end of a 3X or 4X designated leader before knotting on a tippet ring. This affords a degree of versatility for attaching various tippet diameters and lengths to accommodate a wide range of fly sizes and patterns.

Taper profile

The leader consists of; Butt – 40% (146 cm / 4.8 ft), Taper – 35% (128 cm / 4.2 ft), Tip – 25% (91 cm / 3 ft). The butt diameter varies with the tippet size to be paired to different line weights for optimal performance. This ensures a seamless connection is realized for desirable delivery and presentation.
